Color-coated steel sheet has been widely used abroad for a long time. With the sustained and high-speed growth of China's economic construction, the application field and demand of color-coated steel sheet have been expanding continuously in the past decade. However, the rapid growth of domestic production capacity has made the market competition increasingly fierce.

 

Domestic market situation of color coated sheet

 

According to the domestic production capacity of color coated sheets, the domestic production capacity of color coated sheets has been growing at a high speed, with an average annual increase of 2 million tons. There are 12 color coating units in China, including WISCO, Baotou Steel, Tangshan Steel and Tai'an. The new production capacity is 1.5 million tons. At present, the total production capacity of color coating in China has reached 12 million tons. However, many of the production capacity belongs to simple production capacity, which is not fully developed.

 

Regionally, the current domestic color painting capacity is mainly concentrated in the coastal developed areas, of which 9 enterprises in Liaoning can produce 1.2 million tons of color painting, 12 enterprises in Hebei can produce 1.9 million tons of color painting, 12 enterprises in Beijing and Tianjin can produce 1.5 million tons of color painting, 21 enterprises in Jiangsu can produce 2.1 million tons of color painting, and Shanghai and Zhejiang can produce 1.9 million tons of color painting. Seven enterprises can produce 1.67 million tons of color painting, 18 enterprises in Fujian, Guangdong and 7 enterprises in Shandong can produce 1.67 million tons of color painting. The total production capacity of these coastal areas accounted for more than 80% of the total domestic production capacity.

 

From the import and export situation of color coated panels, China has been a net importer of color coated panels due to the serious shortage of domestic production capacity in previous years. The import volume of color coated panels in China is as high as 1.2 million tons, accounting for 43% of domestic consumption. In recent years, with the increase of domestic production capacity and the increase of import price, the import volume of color coated sheets in China has been decreasing year by year. The export volume of color coated sheets has increased rapidly.

 

From the domestic consumption situation of color coated steel sheets, color coated steel sheets are widely used in the construction field. At present, the proportion of consumption of color coated steel sheets in the domestic construction industry accounts for 80% of the total consumption of color coated steel sheets. At the same time, the household appliances industry, transportation and other industries also maintain a certain demand for color coated steel sheets.
